Cookie Policy.
What cookies we use, why we use them, and how to say no — designed to comply with POPIA + the ECT Act. We don't do creepy tracking.
In plain English:We use a small handful of cookies — strictly necessary ones (so the site works), a couple of functional ones (so you don't set preferences twice), and Google Analytics + Hotjar (so we know what's popular, with your consent). No Facebook Pixel, no Google Ads tracking, no following you around the web. You can opt out anytime with one click. Sharp sharp.
Introduction — What Are Cookies?
Howzit! This Cookie Policy explains how Zentrio (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2026/489361/07, tax number 9612335225), trading as YohWeb("YohWeb", "we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on yohweb.co.za and the websites we build for our clients.
Cookiesare tiny text files that websites place on your device when you visit them. They remember things — like your cookie preferences, items in a cart, or that you've logged in — so you don't have to start from scratch every page. Think of them as little sticky notes your browser keeps for next time.
Cookies are notviruses. They can't access the rest of your device, run programs, or steal your photos. They're just bits of text. But because they can be used to track your behaviour across sites, the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECT Act) require us to be upfront about how we use them — and to get your consent for non-essential ones.
This Policy should be read with our Privacy Policy (which explains how we handle personal information generally) and our Terms of Service.
POPIA Compliance Statement
This Cookie Policy forms part of YohWeb's compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA)— South Africa's data protection law — and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECT Act), which together regulate how we use cookies that process personal information.
- • We only process personal information via cookies for the specific, lawful purposes listed in this Policy.
- • We obtain your prior, explicit, opt-in consent before setting non-essential cookies.
- • We don't share cookie data with third parties for marketing purposes — full stop.
- • We retain analytics data for no longer than 26 months; heatmap data for 3 months; session recordings for 30 days (when enabled).
- • You can request access, correction or deletion of your cookie-derived data anytime — email our Information Officer.
- • Our Information Officer (Thabo Mokoena) is available for any POPIA query, including cookie-related ones.
- • We conduct an annual cookie audit to ensure this Policy stays accurate.
For the full picture of how we handle your personal info, read our Privacy Policy. For info on how to access records under SA law, see our PAIA Manual.

Updates to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time — for example, when we add or remove a service that uses cookies, when SA law or Information Regulator guidance changes, or when we conduct our annual cookie audit. When we make material changes, we'll:
- Bump the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
- Post a prominent notice on our homepage for 30 days.
- Email active clients at least 14 days before changes take effect.
- If we add a new non-essential cookie, we'll re-display the consent banner so you can opt in (or not) — no silent new cookies.
We keep previous versions archived. You can request a copy from our Information Officer at any time. Continued use of the site after the notice period means you accept the updated Policy — but we'll always seek fresh consent for new non-essential cookies.
