Howzit! This Cookie Policy explains how Zentrio (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2026/489361/07, tax number 9612335225), trading as YohWeb("YohWeb", "we", "us", "our") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies on yohweb.co.za and the websites we build for our clients.

Cookiesare tiny text files that websites place on your device when you visit them. They remember things — like your cookie preferences, items in a cart, or that you've logged in — so you don't have to start from scratch every page. Think of them as little sticky notes your browser keeps for next time.

Cookies are notviruses. They can't access the rest of your device, run programs, or steal your photos. They're just bits of text. But because they can be used to track your behaviour across sites, the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECT Act) require us to be upfront about how we use them — and to get your consent for non-essential ones.

This Policy should be read with our Privacy Policy (which explains how we handle personal information generally) and our Terms of Service.

We use four categories of cookies on yohweb.co.za:

• Strictly necessary cookies: Required for the site to function. Without them, you can't log in, submit a form, or use the cookie banner itself. We don't need your consent for these — they're essential.
• Functional cookies: Remember your preferences (language, region, dark mode if you've chosen it) so you don't have to set them every visit. These run only with your consent.
• Analytics cookies: Help us understand how visitors use the site (page views, traffic source, device type) in aggregate, so we can improve it. Strictly anonymised; never used to identify individuals. Consent required.
• Marketing cookies: Used to display relevant ads on other sites to people who've visited ours. We do not currently use any marketing cookies on yohweb.co.za. If that ever changes, we'll update this Policy and ask for fresh consent.

We also use cookies on client websites that we build and host — for CRM auth, booking system sessions, split-test variant assignment, AI chatbot session continuity, and analytics. The categories above apply equally there, and each client site has its own cookie banner configured by us.

We do not use Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, Google Ads remarketing tags, or any other third-party advertising cookies on yohweb.co.za.

A "third-party cookie" is set by a domain other than the one you're visiting. We try to keep these to a minimum. Here's the full picture:

We do not embed Facebook Like buttons, Twitter/X widgets, TikTok pixels, or any social-share tracking. Sharing buttons on our site are simple links — no creepy shadow profiling.

We self-host our fonts (Unbounded, Space Mono, Inter) and our analytics where feasible — so no Google Fonts tracking, no third-party font CDNs.

You're in control. You can block, delete, or restrict cookies at any time directly in your browser. Here's how for the major browsers:

You can also browse in incognito / private mode — cookies are deleted when you close the window. Or use privacy-focused browsers like Brave, DuckDuckGo, or Firefox with Enhanced Tracking Protection on Strict.

When you first visit yohweb.co.za, you'll see a cookie banner at the bottom of the page. We obtain your consent in line with POPIA and the ECT Act — no pre-ticked boxes, no "by scrolling you accept" tricks, no "cookie walls" that force you to accept to use the site.

Your options on the banner:

• Accept all: Strictly necessary + functional + analytics cookies are set. Most convenient.
• Strictly necessary only: Only cookies the site needs to work. Maximum privacy.
• Customise: Pick exactly which categories you're OK with (functional, analytics, marketing — if we ever add it).
• Reject all (non-essential): Same as "strictly necessary only" — quick and clean.

Your choice is stored in the yoh_consent cookie for 12 months. After that we ask again. You can change your mind anytime — there's a "Cookie Preferences" link in our footer that re-opens the banner.

Withdrawing consent:

• Click "Cookie Preferences" in the footer anytime and change your selection.
• Clear your yoh_consent cookie — the banner will reappear on next visit.
• Email howzit@yohweb.co.za with "Withdraw Cookie Consent" — we'll action it and confirm.

Withdrawing consent doesn't affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal, and strictly necessary cookies remain active (the site wouldn't work without them).

This Cookie Policy forms part of YohWeb's compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA)— South Africa's data protection law — and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECT Act), which together regulate how we use cookies that process personal information.

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time — for example, when we add or remove a service that uses cookies, when SA law or Information Regulator guidance changes, or when we conduct our annual cookie audit. When we make material changes, we'll:

• Bump the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
• Post a prominent notice on our homepage for 30 days.
• Email active clients at least 14 days before changes take effect.
• If we add a new non-essential cookie, we'll re-display the consent banner so you can opt in (or not) — no silent new cookies.

We keep previous versions archived. You can request a copy from our Information Officer at any time. Continued use of the site after the notice period means you accept the updated Policy — but we'll always seek fresh consent for new non-essential cookies.
